City of Georgetown Flood Protection

BRRWD and Metro Flood Diversion Authority (MFDA) have been working in partnership with the City of Georgetown to mitigate impacts from operation of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project (FM Area Diversion) in and around the City of Georgetown.

Project Features:

  • Remove Northern Railroad Bridge

  • Remove Mason St. crossing and close off roadway

  • Raise HWY 100 and HWY 75

  • Remove Railroad crossings north and south of town

  • Raise HWY 34 on east side of town

  • Adjust drainage pathways within the levee alignment

  • Upgrade lift stations

Project is estimated to cost $3 million.
